Welcome to iDevelop, a weekly eNewsletter providing faculty with information about professional development opportunities at NSCC.  The intent of this eNewsletter is to spotlight the various professional development events for faculty in one convenient location as well as share best practices, resources and tips related to the teaching practice.

20 Minute Online Professional Development: Linking, Embedding & Streaming: What’s Legal? What’s Not?
The Monday Morning Mentor series will be available over the fall semester to bring you professional development in twenty minute snippets.  The topic for the week of October 6th is Linking, Embedding & Streaming: What’s Legal? What’s Not? 

The presentation is available Monday at 10:00am and is accessible through Sunday of that week.  For information on accessing the presentation and supplemental materials, please view the email version of iDevelop or the Bulletin notice.

Other Professional Development Opportunities
  1. Do you want hints for coping with Plagiarism?  Would you like to commiserate about it with your local colleagues, and get a refresher yourself?  Besides the top-notch resources we have here among our library staff, faculty, and ubiquitous writing handbooks, Endicott College is hosting an event in the Halle Library for the community.  The same session will run on Monday, October 6 and Thursday, October 16th at 7:00pm.  Call 978 232-2237 for more information.
  2. In addition to being there for our student referrals, the folks from Crisis/Counseling Services want to speak with you about your student concerns, and they are available to lead class workshops on topics such a Reducing Anxiety and Stress, Staying Motivated despite Obstacles, Maintaining Healthy Relationships, and many other topics. Please contact Crisis/Counseling Services to make arrangements.
  3. Stay tuned to iDevelop for news about NSCC's upcoming Forum on Tolerance. Mark your calendars! The 33rd North Shore Community College Forum on Tolerance, Homelessness is a Social Justice Issue, will take place over two days:
    -Danvers Event: Wednesday, October 22nd from 10:30am-11:20am and 11:30am-12:20pm in the Math/Science Cafeteria
    -Lynn Event: Thursday October 23, 2014 from 8:00am-1:45pm in the Lynn Campus Gymnasium
